The springtime of the furniture industry approaches. New products are emerging, bringing promise of fresh design, innovative options and most certainly, an exciting new ergonomic solution from Neutral Posture. Stay tuned for more information as the time for unveiling nears.

We’ve all been hearing about this country’s “growing” population. Communications centers are now being called upon to respond to the needs of its “growing” workforce. According to Mark Benden, Ph.D., in his Emergency Number Professional Magazine article “Selecting Seating for 9-1-1 Communications Centers”, these facilities are faced with Big & Tall needs for over 30 percent of their workforce. And in the case of emergency call centers, the comfort and safety of operators could mean life or death for emergency victims who need these operators to be alert, focused, calm and responsive. In this article, Benden spells out the requirements for properly accommodating the seating needs of employees and provides recommendations for how to evaluate the work environment, the ergonomics of the workspace and the needs of employees. He also presents a simple 3-step process for evaluating the design and durability of ergonomic seating specifically. This process helps you and your customers ask the right questions, determine what their ergonomic needs are and find the right solutions for their particular situation. Jonathan from South Carolina says –
“We recommend various brands of chairs for various users with various disabilities, but have found that 85-90% of our clients prefer, and are best fit by, Neutral Posture chairs.”

Mike from Pennsylvania says -
“We can't thank you enough for your product. This is the third chair that [our] facility has purchased and all the end users are very happy. I will most certainly recommend your chairs to anyone else in our Plant that has any type of back problems. Thanks again for your help!”

Fighting Fatigue and Eyestrain

Studies show that computer workers blink less while staring at their monitors than while reading or watching television. The result? Your eyes dry out more easily, causing fatigue and eyestrain. The hypnotic state you fall into while staring at your monitor can also reduce body movement, which can cause muscle stiffness and soreness. Just as frequent changes in posture are great for your body, it’s also great for your eyes. Take a few seconds throughout your work day to look away from the monitor and focus elsewhere.

The much-anticipated return of the original #7 seat design is ready for production! For the next month, Customer Service will call on all #7 seat orders to verify if the customer wants the new or previous design.

The Oversized Urethane arm pads are primed and ready for your orders. These arm pads are available on the Big & Tall series as well as the NP Series.

The new screw for the NPS back started production on April 23, 2007! These screws have a patch that will keep them from backing out after extended use.
